On strike Thursday, April 2, 2026: “Le communautaire à boutte”

We have decided to support the ongoing strike movement (“Le communautaire à boutte”) with a symbolic day of action. This movement, concerning community organizations, has been underway since Monday, March 23, 2026.

The demands of this strike are as follows:

• Adequate, stable, and predictable mission-based funding
• Decent working conditions for all community sector workers
• Full recognition of the vital role of community organizations
• Protection of autonomy and an end to precarious funding
• A clear commitment to investing in the community model as a strategic pillar of our society

Community organizations are underfunded by the government, and a large-scale movement is currently taking place to defend our cause and drive meaningful change. For these reasons, we have made the decision to close our doors next Thursday, April 2, 2026.
